Dear Community Member,
Hi! I am writing to tell you about an upcoming event that means a lot to me. The Aurora Relay for Life will take place June 6th - 7th at Gateway High School . I am a team member as well as a volunteer on the organizational committee.My team and I will stay up throughout the night walking the track with the hopes of raising funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society.
Relay for Life is the American Cancer Society's signature event and will take place in over 4,000 communities this year.Teams of 8-15 members of individuals from schools, businesses, places of worship, organizations, and of other community members will camp out overnight, each taking turns walking around the track. We do this throughout the event to represent that cancer doesn't sleep and we won't either. Our event is 24 hours beginning with the Survivor's Lap on Friday, June 6th at 6:00 pm and ending with closing ceremonies and a dove release at 6:00 pm on Saturday, June 7th.
Each of us is touched by cancer. We have lost loved ones, cared for loved ones, and supported friends and family through their fight against this horrible disease. I am asking you to support me in organizing and participating in this effort to raise funds and awareness for cancer research and the Aurora Relay for Life. Just to let you know, these funds stay in the Denver Metro area and are used to support cancer research in our community.
Whatever form of participation that you are willing to give makes a difference. Whether you would like to contribute to the overall fundraising of the event, form a team, volunteer on our organizing committee, donate your services or sponsorship, or even just join as an individual -all of these will make a difference!!
