This position requires a broad range of skills and is likely to be defined by a breadth of knowledge rather than a depth of knowledge.
These skills include software and hardware engineering, interface protocols, and general problem solving skills. It is likely that the problems to be solved have not been solved before except in the broadest sense. They are likely to include new and challenging problems with an input from a broad range of engineers.
Desired Skills
Extensive System Administration Experience (IRIX, Solaris, Linux and AIX)
Classical System Engineering methodology familiarization (requirements decomposition, Interface Definition, Architecture, etc..).
Requirements verification experience.
Capable of Ground Station and Satellite system Command and Control tool integration and design.
System performance enhancement/tuning experience.
Capable of developing concepts for ¡§press-to-test¡¨ in Satellite Ground Stationssystems.
Extensive experience in COTS, GOTS and custom code component installation and checkout.
Proven experience on LDAP design and deployment.
Consulting experience.
Typical Minimums
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered an emerging authority.
