Position Title: Sustaining Engineer
Reports To: Development Engineering Manager

ADA Technologies, Inc. is a technology commercialization company located in Littleton, CO.We are seeking an experienced electrical or firmware engineer with strong skills in embedded systems support to fill the role of Sustaining Engineer for our existing products. Position responsibilities will focus on firmware and electrical product improvements, customer support, design and test of incremental updates, and qualification and verification testing of ongoing product releases.This work will be performed with a team consisting of hardware EEs, mechanical engineers and support technicians. A working knowledge of electronic hardware and hardware system debugging is necessary. BSEE/CS or higher required.Specific experience with the MSP430 is a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS

This associate has a demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic technical environment and can effectively handle multiple assignments.He/she is an excellent communicator who utilizes a variety of methods depending upon the situation.A self-starter, this associate is confident in his/her abilities and knows when to ask questions for further guidance.

The successful candidate will have a technical background with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline (EE/CS) and experienced developing software and firmware for proprietary hardware systems.

This creative person is a life-long learner, always open to new ideas and new ways of doing things.He/she will contribute to existing ADA development activities, and support new concepts and proposals as appropriate to their experience and level of expertise. The candidate is an established technical communicator and can produce clear and effective technical reports, proposals, and presentations.Finally, the candidate must embrace the ADA core values (see website).

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

The associate will be responsible for electrical and firmware support and improvement on multiple product platforms including the following activities:

•Problem investigation of customer issues
•Engineering support required for RMAs and warranty/repairs
•Coding, test and release of embedded firmware upgrades
•Electronic system integration and debug
•Contribute to group project designs and cost and schedule estimates
•Prepare detailed test reports
•Prepare materials for and participate in life cycle reviews
•Input to proposals on new or emerging technologies


SPECIFICATIONS

REQUIRED
•BS in EE/CS
•Five plus years of product-level firmware design
•Experience with PC-based compilers and design tools
•Working knowledge of analog electronic circuits and electronic systems
•Proven ability to come up to speed quickly on existing product designs
•Dedication to the project to meet cost and schedule commitments
•Proven commitment to quality and workmanship
•Work well with teams and able to delegate segments of work.
•Commitment to customers and meeting their needs
•Continuous commitment to learning new skills and staying current with technology
•Overall flexibility on the job
•Ability to work as a proactive, resourceful, cooperative and respectful team member
•Demonstrated ability to plan and carry out experimental test programs

•Excellent oral and written communication skills


PREFERRED / DESIRED

•Experience in troubleshooting, “fire fighting” and prompt resolution of field failures
•Experience with the TI MSP430 processor
•Experience delivering maintainable product-level software
•Wide range of technology knowledge and interests
•Interest and enthusiasm to apply state-of-the-art technology to challenging problems
