Would you like to share your passion for social justice with young people?Would you like to inspire an ethic of service during the critical pre-teen years while enjoying all of the laughter and joy of summer camp?Join our team of dedicated, fun-loving staff and make a difference this summer!

Middle School Leadership Corps Overview:
Middle school students develop leadership skills, teamwork and new friends in a fun, dynamic day camp.We empower students to examine and address social issues including homelessness, health, childcare and the environment through service-learning.Our weeks are filled with team building at a low ropes course, exciting service-learning projects and Fun Fridays at Elitch Gardens and Water World.

Team Leader Responsibilities:
•Lead a team of 8-12 middle school students.
•Implement curriculum to teach 1 hour lessons on various social issues.
•Supervise students during service projects.
•Organize and lead team building activities and group games.
•Facilitate reflection activities.
•Supervise students on Friday field trips to Elitch Gardens and Water World.
•Ensure safety of all participants.
•Drive 15 passenger vans.

Team Leader Qualifications:
•Enjoy working with diverse groups of students and adults.
•Passionate commitment to community service, service-learning and social justice.
•Experience working with middle school students.
•Flexible and positive in an intense, dynamic and sometimes stressful environment.
•Ability to work independently and as a team member.
•Must exercise excellent judgment, diplomacy and sensitivity to all constituents.
•Must be college student or graduate.
•Valid Colorado driver’s license and clean driving record.

Time Commitment: 40 hours/week (Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 3:30pm)
Salary: $8 - $10/hour
Dates: May 27 – August 8, 2008 (includes 1 week of staff training)
