QUALITY INSPECTOR - 2ND SHIFT
Primary Objective of Position (General Statement):
Under moderate supervision, provides inspection plans based on customer specifications, inspects parts to the plans, documents the results of the inspections, and communicates the results to the organization in a timely manner.The inspector also supports the quality system by calibrating company and employee owned tools, and conducting other quality system activities as required.
Essential Job Functions:
1.Provide support for the quality system.
2.Create Inspection Plans based on customer specifications.
3.Has the authority to accept product which conforms to customer specifications for shipment.
4.Has the authority to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to inspection and tool calibration.
5.Conduct First Article, In Process, and Final Inspections as required.
6.Support the Operations Manager, Supervisor, and production personnel with inspection results from setup and process adjustment activity.
7.Inspect incoming material for conformance to customer specifications.
8.Identify nonconformities in incoming material, work in process, and finished parts, and communicate them to the organization verbally and through the nonconforming parts procedures.
9.Support the collection of production data through SPC and other tools.
10. Adjust parts that require dimensional manipulation after metalcutting operations are completed.
Qualifications:
Requires a mastery of Inspection techniques and the ability to read various precision inspection tools and some knowledge of CMM’s. Also required are strong measurement skills and problem solving as related to Quality issues.Individual must be able to work independently and communicate well verbally and in written format.Completion of the INSPECTOR TRAINING CHECKLIST by a Designated Trainer is required for the individual within six months of either accepting the position, or the checklist effectivity date, whichever is later.
Experience:
2-3 years in Quality Control.
Education:
Degree not required.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift 75 pounds.
Opening is for 2nd Shift:
2nd Shift is Monday - Friday, 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm
Pay Scale:
Ranges from $15-$25 per hour, depending on experience.
