Our Energy Client in Denver is looking for Project Managers for the following fulltime positions based in Denver. The client is looking for refinery and gas plant construction experience with a chemical or mechanical engineering degree. This company offers good salary and competitive benefits. Will consider out of state candidates. Company will offer relocation assistance for the right candidates. General Overview: - Responsible for overall project cost and schedule. Effectively uses Project Management Process. Works with Engineering Contractors and to develop project scope, accurate cost estimate, project time line, and identifies critical equipment and resources. Interfaces with Commercial and Operations on input/ideas on project related to scope, cost estimate, equipment design, construction and timing. Evaluates the schedule throughout project and makes appropriate adjustments to ensure completion deadline is met for project. Analyzes actual project costs and compares to budgeted project costs. Communicates with management and project team on progress, issues, risks, costs, and schedule impacts. - Coordinates project implementation with Operations, Engineering, Environmental, Safety, Mechanical Integrity, Measurement, and Procurement groups to assemble project team and define project roles and responsibilities. Completes and updates Project Execution Plan (PEP) throughout the project including ensuring subsidiary plans are in-place and executed for safety, risk, procurement, and other key items identified in the PEP. Provides leadership to project team to identify and mitigate issues to ensure project success. Coordinates with various groups to ensure environmental and other state/county/township/city permits are obtained for the project and that design and construction is in compliance. Requires a significant time commitment at the construction job site. - Coordinates development of construction drawings with Engineering Contractor. Develops Requests for Proposal and construction bid packages. Coordinates with Operations and Safety to review contractor safety records and develop contractor bid list. Reviews submitted bids with project team and selects contractor(s) for project. - Travel time. Significant travel to plant construction and operating sites is required especially at key points in construction phase. Maintains effectiveness even with time lost due to travel. Basic Qualifications: •Bachelors Degree in Engineering plus eight years of relevant construction/engineering experience in the oil & gas industry or an Associates Degree in Engineering or a related technical/engineering degree plus 10 years of construction/engineering experience or 12 years of construction/engineering work experience. •Demonstrate understanding of OSHA regulations and industry standards and practices such as ASME, API, NACE, NFPA, DOT, etc. •A working knowledge of facility design and construction including typical drawings (Plot Plans, Electrical One-line Diagrams, Equipment Layouts, Piping Plans and Isometrics, PFDs, P&IDs, etc.), data sheets, equipment requisitions, instrument lists, equipment lists, and equipment and instrument specification. •General knowledge of facility equipment design specifications including: compression, pumps, separation, heat exchange, distillation columns, and fluid flow. •General knowledge of facility design practices including: piping design, foundation design, structural design, instrument and electrical systems, distributed control systems (DCS), programmable logic controllers (PLC), process control basics, and safety systems. •General knowledge of construction practices such as excavation, welding, lifting and setting equipment, and tubing and wiring instruments. •General knowledge of construction inspection practices for concrete, welding, pressure testing, and other integrity tests. A working knowledge of pre-commissioning testing and inspection. •General Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) including Management of Change (MOC), Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), and Pre-Start-up Safety Review (PSSR). Desired Skills: •Previous leadership or supervision work experience. •Previous experience as a project manager in the Oil and Gas Industry. •Required Practices (RPs), and General Construction Specification. •Project Management Process or other Industry Standard Practices such as Construction Industry Institute (CII) or Project Management Professional (PMP). •Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) is a plus.
