First time offered. This is a gorgeous Paint Overo cow bred mare. Pretty headed and well muscled.She is an own daughter of Smoken Beau Chex and Versarys Laska on bottom. She was started and trained in the True Vaquero Tradition. This mare was started in a bosal/hackamore for 5 years and is now in a 2 rein. She is fingertip light and stops hard with just saying whoa. Her mouth is like velvet.Though I do not show, I have a reining background and understand the Vaquero way of training with the bosal/hackamore.
This mare will pick up her leads, turn and spin after a cow, work off her hind end and mainly rope…she will hold a cow or bull and drag calves to the fire. I use her to move and gather cows, to ride and pack out elk and deer. You can haul her alongside of geldings without causing problems. She is hobble broke and highline broke. I crack whips off her when moving cows and have done quite a bit of spook proofing, as I’m a certified police horse trainer. Gunshots will not send her flying off.This mare will baby-sit the inexperienced rider and please the advanced rider with lots of feel and leg.
No buck! Even as a started colt, this mare took to riding nicely.
She is an easy keeper and had given me 2 super nice colts. After 2 babies and a year off, this mare picked up right where I left off…she is nice! You can leave her alone for days or months and when you need her to go, just saddle and go. She has the black pigmentation around her eyes, which I really liked when I bought her.This mare has never been mistreated, but has been expected to behave and stand tied while working or hunting.
She has lots of saddle time and many quiet miles in the mountains. This is a using horse and has the same qualities as good ranch gelding…but this one makes babies.
She is sound, breeding sound and is UTD on shots and worming.This is truly a nice mare and will do arena or show events if headed that way.She is extremely supple and light. To those who understand the lightness…this mare will impress you!
