Professional Musician/Composer/Guitarist has openings (on Wednesdays & Thursdays) for beginner through advanced guitar students in the Littleton area. My teaching studio is located at 6574 South Broadway (4 blocks N. of Arapahoe Rd. on E. side). I have over 25 years of experience as a private guitar instructor including experience teaching music and guitar at CU Denver, and as a volunteer music teacher at the grade school level.I earned a Bachelor of Science in Music from CU Denver, graduating cum laude. I was also a multi-award winning guitarist while a student at Columbine High School, winning the All State Jazz Guitarist honors in both my Jr & Sr. years, as selected by the National Association of Jazz Educators. I teach fundamental musical skills and apply them to whatever kind of music you're into. Specializing primarily in electric guitar styles such as Rock, Blues, Jazz, Folk, Country, Pop etc. Which is not to say I don't do anything acoustic - I do. I teach music theory and improvisation, how to read music (standard musical notation, chord symbols, rhythmic notation, TAB) , ear training, and address a wide variety of playing techniques in a thorough and musical manner. I also do music transcription. Be it note for note, or an adaptation/arrangement to suit the level of the individual student. In my lessons I regularly make audio recordings (of myself playing) to provide examples of key points in a lesson (when needed - done via cassette tape) so students can hear what their goal is when practicing on their own at home. I'm a published author of the book, "Reading Chops for Guitarists." In addition, I'm a published composer and sound designer (for 20 years now) with countless music and sound design placements on both TV and radio worldwide. The point being, I'm a highly experienced music professional, and a very experienced guitar instructor.
