Up for sale is an original Robert Laessig framed floral watercolor.It is 36" by 30".The picture is matted in silk.The watercolor was painted in approximately 1950.On the back of the watercolor are the following: A-NA.The painting was commissioned by the owner of the piece. Robert Laessig was born in West New York, New Jersey on November 15th - 1913.He was educated at the Textile Design School of Plauen in Germany where he attended for five years.While there he specialized in the study and painting of flowers.During World War II he served as a textile designer with the 13th Air Force Historical Section as a combat artist. He also studied at the Art Students League in New York City.Laessig is internationally known for his floral , still life, botanical and landscape paintings, and textile design.He was also Art Director or the American Greetings Company.According to Laessig, "My work is inspired by nature.It is a reflection of the natural beauty all around us." Many of Mr. Laessig paintings are at the U.S. Pentago in Washington, DC.
