Let's see...Obama a communist?I think there are political players in our country who may be far more a communist that Obama or Clinton, indeed, more than a lot of left leaning democrats.
Well, let's take a good look at communism as we know it from a U.S. perspective.1st, let's go back to President Reagan.He called the Soviet Union "the evil empire".Why?Well, because of their totalitarian tactics to get their citizens to be totally compliant.Chief tactics were:
--suspension of habeas corpus (no proof needed to throw you in jail without trial and/or charges)
--secret wiretapping without a warrant
--opening mail of citizens
--torture of suspected anti-government agents/terrorists without stated cause required
--going to war against lesser countries for political gain and without the permission of the citizenry
--going to war without following any of the international agreements about what is just cause for war
The list goes on.I think Ronald Reagan was right about the Soviet Union.So do a lot of people whether they agreed with President Reagan or not on other things.
So, a man who admires Ronald Reagan as his hero - a man named George W. Bush who is President has done what in the name of fighting terrorism?

Further, W. claims to support veterans but he's done more G.I. benefits cutting than any President in history - especially health benefits for disabled vets (something that "super vet" John McCain agreed with).
W. also always criticizes the "left" and democrats for “tax and spend liberalism”.But, people like the person who posted the original note about Obama being a communist and attacked the left and democrats as well, never say ANYTHING about the BORROW AND SPEND Republicans and conservatives.70% of our entire national debt has been compiled under 3 presidents: Ron Reagan, George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush.
So you see, the "communist threat" that some wacko retard right wing neo conservative shallow idiot sees in Barack Obama, is actually embodied in George W. Bush more than anyone in this country except for maybe Dick Cheney (who has the distinction of being not only a "commie" in the Soviet sense but Satan incarnate as well).
In sum:Barack Obama - decent American who's reaching out to all sectors of society and trying to get beyond political labels to unite a country.As a political scientist (me who's writing this), I can tell you for a FACT that Barack Obama on the ideological scale is only slightly left of center and is as far from being a communist as you can get in American politics with the exception of some libertarians (some but not all).
In sum: PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH - fits the VERY DEFINITION OF COMMUNIST, SOVIET STYLE that his hero Ronald Reagan decried as the evil empire.
Fact: Pres. Bush and VP Cheney have committed crimes against humanity; have started and sustained an illegal war; have run our economy into the ground and built up the biggest deficit spending sprees in U.S. history; have illegally wiretapped, openend mail, imprisoned without charge; have been responsible for the deaths of over 4,000 U.S. troops and hundreds of thousands of Iraqi citizens; and both have violated their oaths of office and the constitution repeatedly along with using their offices to divide this country like never before since the 1960’s.
Fact: If justice is pursued - even if after President Obama (or Clinton or McCain) is in office - then G.W. Bush and Dick Cheney will be tried and convicted for thousands of crimes against humanity, against the United States Constitution and for violating their official oaths.And hopefully, will not be pardoned but will be imprisoned and hopefully...ass-raped repeatedly by large inmates.
In the mean time, people like the original author who ridiculously claimed that Obama is a communist will continue to listen to the right wing, neo-con idiots like rush limbaugh, ann coulter and the like and keep this country divided with their all or none blind view of what America truly is supposed to be about: Freedom to be who the hell you want to be even if your neighbor is not comfortable with it, so long as your neighbor is not hurt by it.
I do have a hint for the original author of the Obama/Communist post:Actually try reading some history and political science from neutral and diverse sources.Stop getting all your info from rush, ann, sean hannity bill o'reilly and all of those slanted, pathetic media whores who are pushing buttons and dividing this country for the sake of their pocket books and taking little moehills of their frustrations and making them into mountains of false accusations, mis-labeling and inflammatory, divisive us vs. them prejudices.This is exactly what they want from you - the original author of the Obama/Communist post...and they have succeeded, which means you and all of America fails.

p.s.to start your reading, I suggest the novel “Animal Farm”.Yes, I know you think it’s an 8th grade book you were supposed to have read.But, it’s actually a satire of the Soviet Union Communism.Written by George Orwell, a committed Marxist and Socialist, who realized like you don’t that the Communist Manifesto was written by a bunch of fascists who created the Soviet Union and not by Karl Marx and other socialists.
