Position Title
Field Geophysicist

Position Summary:
The Field Geophysicist is responsible for the daily planning and field crew management for geophysical investigations conducted to detect unexploded ordnance (UXO).The Field Geophysicist must understand and be experienced in the use of Electromagnetics (EM) and Magnetics technologies for the detection of UXO as deployed on various collection platforms for the collection of high quality data.The position will support Sky Research geophysical projects in Denver, Colorado and throughout the United States.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Support projects on all geophysical tasks
•Collect/Process Electromagnetic (EM) and Magnetometer (Mag) data using UXOLab and/or Geosoft manned arrays and towed arrays
•Collect Global Positioning System (GPS) and Robotic Total Station (RTS) Positioning data for sensor operation and general surveying.
•Maintain and troubleshoot sensors and software
•Provide guidance for working in a safe workplace
•Assist with reporting and deliverables as requested by managers
•Supervise 1-4 person field data collection team with varying tasks and oversight
•Understand all operations of a Data Acquisition System; Hardware and Software
•Schedule and plan data collections and processing activities
•Other projects and tasks as assigned by management

Education and Experience Requirements:
•B.S. in Geophysics or related field (geology, physics, earth sciences) or equivalent work experience required, M.S. preferred
•1 – 3 years experience in site/field geophysicist work required
•1 – 3 years experience in field team management preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:
•Experience with Matlab, Geosoft, ArcGIS, Office, and Database experience preferred
•Experience with Windows based PCs, including general office software knowledge required
•Excellent oral and written communication skills required
•OSHA HAZWOPER certified is required (employer will provide paid training if certification is not current)
•60% travel required
•Ability to work in a team environment across multi-site organization is required
