Would you like to work with an established company in the oil and gas industry?Do you enjoy working with maps, environmental and geographic data?Then we have the position for you! We are seeking a GIS Specialist to work with our client in Lakewood, CO.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of GIS field experience. The candidate should be familiar with overlaying aerial photo images with environmental and geographic data andtransferable experience using the following software applications:
•Auto CAD
•ESRI
•ArcView
•ArcGIS
•MS access databases
If selected as a GIS analyst you will map environmental data within operating refineries and former refineries.Perform work to support the investigation and remediation of petroleum and chemical releases to soil and groundwater. Identify geographic information; Studying map project requests; Locate Resources; Collect map data by searching GIS & mapping databases; Produce maps by analyzing, interpreting and integrating map data; and Assure quality by verifying data.
The necessary skills to perform these duties are as follows:
Conceptual skills, analyzing information, decision making, map reading, research skills, presentation skills, functional and technical, job knowledge, and attention to detail, independence, innovation, communication and collaboration.
This opportunity is starting out part-time at 20 hours per week however; there is possibility of becoming full-time as work load demands change. The salary for this position will range from $25 to $30 per hour depending on experience.
