The Data Integration Specialist oversees data and systems support for clinical and financial related data projects and requests.This position will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, implementation, and automation of data extracts and reports as well as the management of database systems related to reporting data.This position is also responsible for providing recommendations to the organization pertaining to reporting and data management.

This position assists in the development and coordination of project plans and upgrades related to these systems and coordinates with the revenue cycle, business application and clinical teams. Interacts daily with end users and vendor to analyze issues and provide data.The person in this position will work to provide organization-wide reporting and data feeds as necessary to outside vendors.

General Responsibilities
Developing project plans, organizing, and prioritizing data projects and managing multiple projects simultaneously according to IT strategic plan.
Leading projects and teams using project management tools and concepts and reporting progress to management on a regular basis.
Ability to effectively utilize most appropriate visual presentation tool for reporting data to physicians, managers, and staff.
Retaining a working knowledge of financial, clinical, and quality directives in Healthcare including Revenue cycle, CORE Measures, Joint Commission audits, and statistical process control.
Retaining a working knowledge of medical terminology, including a general understanding of coding practices relating to diagnosis and procedure data.
Performing and/or leading organizational data needs assessments.
Ensuring education plans are developed and implemented for customers.
Working cooperatively with other teams within Information Technology, such as Support Services, Network technologies, Clinical Analysts and Revenue Cycle Analysts.


Minimum Qualifications:
An undergraduate degree, with a computer science or health care related major, and two years of Information Systems experience. Additional relative experience may be substituted for formal education at the rate of two years of experience for each year of education deficiency.
Must maintain high standards of professionalism, communication, performance and respect for confidentiality.
Excellent written communication and business analytical skills
Must be experienced working with client-server systems and relational database technologies.
Must be able to design and develop database tables, stored procedures, and views using a major RDBMS such as Microsoft SQL server or Oracle.
Expert in the use of reporting software such as Crystal Reports, Business Objects, Access reports, SQL Reporting services, etc.
Expert in the use of SQL (TSQL, PSQL, etc.).
Competency in Data extraction, Analysis, and Transformation tools.
Experience designing and implementing OLAP and multidimensional databases.
Experience in data validation and auditing to insure data integrity.
Working knowledge of data warehouse technologies and decision support systems.
Working knowledge of PC Hardware, software, operating systems, basic networking and file based systems.
Demonstrated ability to manage a project, software implementation or upgrade.
Experience using project management tools and visualization tools such as Microsoft Project, Visio, and Power Point.


Desired Attributes:
EPIC Certification(s) a plus.

Working Conditions:
Must be available to work occasional swing and night shifts for training and educational purposes.
Must be available for on-call duties on rotating weeks/weekends.
Must be capable of medium physical activity.
