Billion dollar, multi-branch local bank that specializes in small business, real estate and commercial construction lending needs a corporate controller. In this position, the controller will prepare reports that summarize and forecast business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations. The controller will also assist in the preparation of the annual budget; prepare reports required by regulatory agencies; oversee accounts payable activities; ensure the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, employee expense reports and payroll entries; maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules; coordinate month-end and year-end closing process; prepare Board of Directors reports; review financial statements for accuracy and clarity; establish and maintain systems and controls which verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the Company’s value; and manage the Accounting department staff. Requirements for the position include: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA or CPA certification preferred • 5+ years hands-on accounting managerial experience; banking experience a major plus • Strong general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and general banking knowledge under both GAP and RAAP • Call Report, Y9-C 1O-Q preparation experience for multi-tiered financial institution • Solid Excel and Access skills; development of macros and/or using VB programming language a real plus ; more important than banking experience • Exceptional communication skills and professionalism • Strong attention to detail and work quality • Ability to contribute in a dynamic team environment
