AMG is seeking a Controller to join our growing team in Englewood, CO.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation of experience in all aspects of accounting and has the personal initiative and drive to do whatever it takes to get the job done.
In this position, you will participate in the financial strategy of the firm, manage the day-to-day accounting functions and activities, and manage and motivate the accounting team. You will coordinate and actively manage financial and regulatory audits and prepare and file OCC and FDIC reports. You will maintain appropriate financial and accounting controls, manage and track capital expenditures, and oversee the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements. You will maintain compliance with federal and state payroll, sales and other tax requirements and ideally possess the ability to calculate estimated income tax payments and account for income taxes.
The ideal candidate will be a Colorado State Licensed CPA with a minimum of 5 years depository banking experience. At least 3 years of supervisory experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Treasurer is desired. Regulatory environment and reporting experience is required, auditing experience is a plus.
Candidate will possess a thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, including consolidations. Knowledge of cash management and treasury functions required. Candidate will possess excellent judgment, discretion and the ability to maintain confidential information, as well as excellent problem solving, analytical and organizational skills. Must have the ability to manage all aspects of an accounting department and create a productive, effective environment while working well with and gaining the cooperation of others. The ability to communicate ideas and facts effectively, clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing is also required. Knowledge of financial accounting software, and prior usage of Metavante and IPS Sendero is a plus. Must be able to adapt quickly to change.
