An established private manufacturing and distribution based corporation is currently seeking a qualified Controller to lead their accounting and finance efforts.
Position:
Supervise the application of accounting principles to a computerized accounting system. Monitor expenditure and prepare monthly financial statements and administrative reports. Provide technical assistance and training to clerical personnel. Work is subject to periodic audits and may be reviewed by Management for overall standards of performance.
Responsibilities:
*Review work product of the accounting department to ensure accuracy and completeness.
*Provides technical assistance to clerical personnel
*Manages an accounting staff member
*Balances and reconciles accounts
*Adjusts and corrects opening and closing entries
*Works closely with banking contacts
*Compiles data and prepare various monthly, quarterly and annual fiscal reports including income statements, balance sheets and reports on expenditures and transactions
*Provides financial analysis and ad hoc reports for the President
*Provides internal audits as necessary
*Supervise and train clerical personnel in the performance of standard and routine accounting, cash control and other related tasks
Requirements:
*Bachelor of Science degree in accounting, finance or business administration
*CPA designation
*Experience in the manufacturing industry and related accounting practices
*Experience working with GL, journal entries, cost accounting, internal and external audits, general tax practices, sales reports, inventory, balance sheets and financial reporting
