Job Description:
Operates variety of chemical processing equipment in preparing liquid or solid chemicals for either long or short cycle processing. Weighs, measures, gets proper proportions and mixes ingredients. Operates complex analytical test instruments to meet standards. Makes adjustments of equipment, temperature, pressure or time cycle as needed. Performs a limited variety of fairly routine tasks. Develops and applies basic production, operational, administrative and/or PC skills in procedures, techniques and/or equipment. High school or GED graduate required.

Specific Responsibilities: 2nd or 3rd shift position with ability to work weekends and overtime. Short 1st shift training period desired. Setup and operate complex chemical process equipment. Take numerous in-process samples and analytically test to verify the quality of the product. Perform minor and preventative maintenance on process equipment. Extensively clean process equipment during product changes.

Technical Aptitude: Chemical processing and manufacturing experience preferred. Mechanical or electronics experience desirable.AA degree preferred. Ability to write and follow comprehensive procedures, some of which pertain to complex manufacturing and analytical test equipment. Utilize tools and instrumentation to prepare and maintain manufacturing test equipment. Must be able to handle frequent changes to daily tasks. Must be able to multitask.

Communications: Record and track analytical data. Input data into a computer and generate reports. Present data effectively at team meetings. Must be able to work in team and effectively communicate task status with another shift.

Physical: Job requires working in dusty environment. Requires the use of a respirator. Must be capable of moving and lifting up to 35 pounds. Must be able to be licensed and operate a fork truck. Must be capable of climbing stairs.

May require some initial training on first shift, (7:00am – 3:30pm).
