Summer Camp Counselor Position

Ken-Caryl Ranch Summer Camp Overview:
Elementary school students enjoy drama, science, art, cooking, field trips and more!Each fun filled day offers campers a variety of new activities.Each week includes daily swimming, tennis lessons and weekly field trips to Elitch Gardens, Water World, etc.
Camp Counselor Responsibilities:
•Organize and lead a team of 8 – 12 students in small group activities.
•Help facilitate large group games and team building activities.
•Ensure safety of all participants.
•Supervise students on field trips.
•Attend staff training.
Qualifications:
•Experience working with elementary school students
•Flexible and positive in an intense, dynamic and sometimes stressful environment
•Enjoy working and playing outdoors with energetic people
•Passionate about one or more of the following: science, art, cooking, sports, drama, music
•Ability to work independently and as a team member
•Must exercise excellent judgment, diplomacy and sensitivity to all constituents
•Must be at least 19 years old or have completed one year of college
•Strong communication skills with youth, parents and co-workers
Salary: $8 - $10/hour DOE
Dates: May 19 – August 8, 2008 (includes 1 week of staff training)
Time Commitment: 40 hours/week, Monday - Friday
