TITLE: Bakery General Manager ORGANIZATION: Our business is expanding and we are seeking a General Manager to join our team at our recently aquired Colorado facility. Our company is a leader in the bakery industry creating a variety all of our specialty desserts that are sold through retailers and foodservice outlets around the country. ACCOUNTABILITY: The General Manager works under the supervision of the Operations Manager to meet the operational and production needs of the facility. RESPONSIBILITIES: The Plant Manager will: *Manage the production, warehouse, and distribution processes to meet order volume, productivity, quality and labor cost expectations. *Manage all bakery operations personnel including creating training & career development programs. *Responsible for overseeing food safety and employee safety programs and the H.A.C.C.P. team *Oversee the maintenance of plant and equipment to meet government regulations and customer requirements. *Develop and manage quality and waste controls for raw materials and finished and packaged goods. *Communicate regularly with the Operations Manager regarding goals, objectives, results and challenges. *Perform other duties assigned by the Operations Manager. *Indicates essential duties. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. QUALIFICATIONS: The General Manager must have: At least five years experience in food production in a volume production operation with at least three years supervisory experience.Previous experience as a Plant Manager helpful. Experience with bakery or pastry production a plus. Knowledge of the equipment, processes, methods and practices employed in production baking. Experience managing quality control and cost expectations. Must be able to lead and work within a team environment. Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms.
