Sony's proprietary printing mechanics and highly sensitive print media ensure rapid printing with newly developed high speed processing chips. Full color 5 1/4 x 7 inches images can be printed in under 40 seconds.
The UP-D5500 has SCSI and bi-Centronics interface boards that provide direct connections to a variety of computers. The SCSI interface is recommended for high performance printing. ECP mode (Enhanced communications port), which is available through the bi-Centronics interface, enables faster data-transfer as well as bi-directional communication between the PC and the printer. Auto switching capability is possible between the SCSI and bi-Centronics connections.
